Are You Ignoring This Tool For Your Website? | Episode 027 | Best Photography Websites

Well hello there, amazing business owners, ready to set yourself up for success with your website? In today’s episode of Business Straight Up – the small business podcast for photographers and creative business owners, we are going to go into detail on WHY you need a website blueprint, and HOW to create one. This is one of the most overlooked website tools that can make your life a little easier when it comes to setting up a new website, making changes, or having to switch some things around if chaos happens! The best photography websites have a plan in place, and then they are thoughtfully executed, and that is what today’s episode is all about. Ready to set up a foundation for your website? Let’s go!

Earlier this year, all of the galleries on my photography website were shut down out of the blue, no warning.

An automatic update happened, and one of the plugins on my photography website was no longer working. All of my galleries and some other pages weren’t working, completely out of the blue –  it was definitely a frustrating few days. I went back and forth with support, trying to figure out what happened, and eventually ended up figuring it out myself and fixing it by doing entirely new galleries in a different plugin. Now I realize that some of you are probably thinking, “Holy crap, Brooke, I  wouldn’t have the first clue how to do that.” I hear you and that’s EXACTLY what we are going to talk about today – a tool that can help you plan, implement, and even save your butt if you need it. The best photography websites all start with a PLAN, and there is one thing that you can do that will help you immensely. Even the most awesome photography website templates can go down, and this tool can be a part of your backup plan!

I have a full system for implementation that I’ll actually be sharing in Spiff Up Your Site, my course for all website related and web strategy. Because no matter what photography website templates you’re using, there are certain tweaks that you can make to your site that will actually help change those visitors into inquiries, and into clients. But today we’re going to talk about a tool that was immensely helpful throughout this entire process of having my galleries completely shut down. Because if I had to completely redo my website all over again, I could. And I could throw up a quick website in about 2 hours and I wouldn’t be out for several days, or weeks trying to figure out what had happened.
